I really don’t even know where to begin with this one.
I recently lost my Grandfather.
Anyone who knows me personally will tell you that Lt. Herman Kleiner was the example of who I strived to be.
My Grandfather taught me to play catch with the was always willing to ‘throw the ball’.

He’d always chuckle and point out what corner the ghost was hiding in… even if it meant I was near the cream sickle orange olds.

My Grandfather always calmed my nerves before teaching me to waterski, tube and boogie board. He was so proud the day I learned to surf!
I’d beg my parents to let me go to teepee lane as much as possible. I loved it there.
When I was in Ms. Fultz’s Third Grade at Lowell Elementary, he’d let me keep his flying cross for getting good grades.
Since I was disrespected and robbed of my chance to say goodbye to the one person in this world that meant more to me than anything… I will just have to do it here.
Gramps.
I understand that it was your time to go. Congratulations! You made it!
I remember when you called me on your 100th birthday and you were all excited, ‘Viv, I made it! I can’t believe I actually made it!’
Thank you for always encouraging and inspiring me. For being my rock when I had no other anchors. Thank you for inspiring me to follow my dreams and join the Air Force. Thank you for always answering when I had the chance to call. You were my best friend when I had no one else.
I will always remember the love and kindness that you gave willingly to a child that had nothing else.
שתנוח עם האבות עכשיו. הרווחת את השקט שלך. תמיד אוהב, אוקיר ואזכור אותך. שתמשיך לחיות בזיכרונותינו, ותמיד תהיה חלק מהנשמה שלי.
As you now go into the land of milk and honey, know that a piece of me goes with you. You will always be the one I most admire.
I love you.
