My School Excuse

To All Concerned,

Please excuse Chef V for her absence yesterday, Thursday May 12, 2023. She had some car issues and a full meltdown shortly after.

She has been treated with cracker and juice. She is not contagious.

Thank you.

I needed a self-care day, y’all. To be honest, my internet interactions yesterday were really limited. Instead, I spent the day cleaning and creating. Then I took a nap. It was glorious.

I said goodbye to the last piece of West Virginia property I owned yesterday. My Jäger- 46B448 – SpeedieG the Blueberry.

Following a subsequent post from last week, I have decided that it’s time to retire her. The reality of the situation was too much for me to afford and, I’m not standing out in 110 degrees to turn wrenches. I am also not going to spend another Arizona summer driving without A/C.

The original plan was only to have her for a year. Those got fouled for kitchen cabinets, and I’ve not yet been in a place to recover. Nearly 3 years later, it is in such disrepair that I am now without again. However, I have use of a vehicle, so no worries!

There is a point when one must choose to either continue down the path to cross the bridge, or take a box of matches and burn it down. Instead of repeating patterns from the past and destroying my life to hold onto something I have very little positivity from. I vowed to make an active effort for change.

I elected to let it go.

This car has been an absolute legend. It has been the only security that I have had for the last 3 years. Being a place of refuge and safety in bad times, to free flowing across the country and finding the good times in the desert. From the grass in the axles, no heat in the winter, almost falling off a cliffside to melting tires in the Arizona heat. What an adventure.

She was assembled in Korea in April 2007. She retired nearly around the world in May 2023.

She was the ugliest douchebag blue, and wore her battle scars like a champ. Damn near impossible to break into with the half working door locks, and build in anti theft electrical failure system. You were impervious to steering column disassembly- my very own Jäger to pilot- nearly nuclear.

We laughed, we cried, we cussed… a lot. We went coast to coast, she rescued me. More than once…

Memphis, Tennessee- Exit 1 – April 9, 2022

She was my white horse, my trusty pal and -at a couple of points- the place I called home.

Your plate will forever hang in my heart, 46B448WV. Rest in pieces. 💙. -🍋💋
