How do you plan your goals?
Is it just me, or have the daily prompts the last 2 days left a bland, stale aftertaste in your mouth?
I don’t mean to start the morning off in a negative tone, especially since it is Friday— but did I somehow energize while sleeping and transport back to Mrs. Frizz’s 5th grade class?
Goal setting, huh… (insert sarcastic curse word here).

Based upon the overly blasé’ tone of the intro, it’s clear that I am going to be ‘that kid’. The one in the class who fiddle farts their way into some relevant yet irrelevant answer.
Maybe the 12 years of forced undergrad public education was absorbed in some manner.
Through the special ed power, invested in me I give you, “Everything Public School teaches about Goals”.
There are three type of goals.
1. Process Goals are action specific or process specific in order to achieve performance.
Example: Patrick aims to study his playbook for 2 hours every evening after dinner for next weeks Super Bowl.
2. Performance Goals are based on personal standards.
Patrick believes his skills will take his team to the SuperBowl.
3. Outcome goals are based on winning.
Patrick was named MVP of the Super Bowl because of his winning performance.
Yay! Goals. But the question was, how do you plan them….
Personally I don’t. I think the entire idea around craving something so much you have to go out and get it is worth my time.
I think goal setting is selfish.
Personally, I have found that fighting every battle to get what you need leave you exhausted. Devoid of will, and eventually overwhelming.
Especially in ‘adult world’.
Let’s be realistic for a moment.
The ultimate goal for every middle aged American is home ownership. Yet, the cost of living is so high we can’t afford the college tuition to get the education necessary to get the job to generate the revenue to make homeownership a reality.
And for the lucky few who do, it takes selling their soul to pay for the damned thing.
Renting isn’t any better. You sure can pay $2500 a month, but you don’t get to eat. You can’t afford to live and feed yourself in this system.
Goals… pointless.
