What do you enjoy most about writing?

Ha! This is a good one!!!

This mornings adventure into Daily Prompt land has landed us here.

Now, let me just tell you what. The last thing I expected to see on the top of my feed was an mini romantic novel. That totally wasn’t the assignment, but hey-

Y’all ain’t got a lick of shame, and I love it.

I’ll cover this in my subsequent daily post, later today.

Anyways.. what do I enjoy most about writing?

This is going to sound so elementary, but I actually like the sound of the keys under my fingers. I also enjoy watching the letters come up on the screen. It is all very cathartic, aesthetically.

Mentally, writing keeps me sane. If you really want to know about it. My emotions are extreme. Highs are high, and lows are rock fucking bottom, and defiance is the name of the game. As I have stated multiple times, in my more detailed posts- I am autistic.

Writing allows me to emotionally express myself, free of open judgement and ridicule.

I have always had extreme trouble with physical communication and social situation. As I have aged, I have come to a point where I no longer crave the socialization of other people.

Writing allows me to communicate what is in my head very clearly, while subsequently slowing my 214 thoughts a minute down to a narrow focus of one. In addition, as I am writing I can hear each word reflected in my mind. Spoken silently, if you will.

The clarity in my writing far outshines my ability to explain in spoken words. I can describe the colors as I taste them and the sounds as I decide to interpret them.

Writing, just as drawing is a strong creative, emotional and physical energy dump for me. It my coffee, before tai chi and yoga. It’s my whiskey during dark times. Here’s some of my other work.
