Expressing Vulnerability

Describe the most ambitious DIY project you’ve ever taken on.

Welp… you’re reading these words at the moment are you?

Whether you’re brand new or a return reader, you’re participating at the very moment along with me.

After losing a job, then losing the person I most looked up to in my life. I began this blog in an attempt to unmask my trauma. The initial intent was focused on existing close friends and family in on years behind my walls.

I would sit and write, sometimes for hours. Pouring all of my passion into the words on the screen. Every moment hoping that someone would read and finally care enough to comfort me. Praying that for once I would be heard by those who spent 18 years convincing me it was good to embrace my vulnerability while censoring the actual severity of a growing judgemental world.

To be fair, it took half my own life to finally gain enough forgiveness within to understand. They did their best.

It was on me for compartmentalizing and being mentally unable to breech my own walls.

Yet, we land on this daily prompt asking coincidentally about DIY a week shy of the blogs 1 year mark. I am here, present and pouring with prose. I’ve got roughly 28 incredible strangers who read my nonsense each day. Only one is someone close to me.

Unmasking trauma and embracing vulnerability is a courageous journey that requires resilience, self-compassion, and support.

Unmasking trauma and embracing vulnerability on a worldwide public Internet forum is not the absolute best answer to getting positive feedback. Yet if you’re just looking to bitch and complain and occasional have a brief moment away from the constant loneliness, this is totally the way to go.

By shedding the layers of societal expectations and embracing authenticity, we not only heal ourselves but also inspire others to do the same.

Just as the past unmemorable days, today I continue to navigate the complexities of the human experience with as much courage, empathy, and openness as I can.

Praying quietly each morning to the universe to help me pass through this tumultuous fourth year chapter as I pour a little more of myself onto a blank screen.

Then moving on with the rest of the day, trying to DIY. ❤️
