There are times in our lives where all humans feel the familiar burnout from toxic co-dependency.

Yall know. It’s that one person in your life that just whines and cry’s about everything they need. The endless ‘honey-do’ list or the proverbial argument behind each breath of oxygen you take.
That’s the toxic co-dependency this author is referring to. ✨
Today prompt asks us what ‘strategies you use to increase comfort in your daily life’.
The answer is simple. This author sets boundaries.
We all live in a world where trauma is king.
But what it seems society has failed to realize is the normalization of programmatic abuse has caused multiple generations of victims.

As a child my grandfather used to always tell me, “Shake hands firmly, and don’t take any wooden nickels.”
Admittedly, this author didn’t fully understand what those words meant until she became a survivor herself.

Boundaries. My dears.
Words are but passing thoughts, a moments regard.
Yet, Actions have consequences.
You don’t wipe your ass before you shit,
So why would you disrespect yourself by participating with someone who clearly doesn’t respect you enough to be your equal, and best friend?
